Drive technology born of experience and passion
Since 1975, BOB Bobolowski has stood for the development and manufacturing of sophisticated drive solutions. What began with David Bobolowski in a small workshop in Lörrach has evolved into a specialized family business for servo and linear motors.
Since 1982, our own motors and custom drive solutions have been produced at our site in Steinen im Wiesental. The close integration of development, design, and manufacturing enables short communication channels, high flexibility, and solutions that are precisely tailored to each specific application.
Today, BOB Bobolowski is led by the next generation, with Silvio Bobolowski serving as Managing Director. Together with Myrta Bobolowski as authorized signatory and an experienced team, we combine more than five decades of expertise with a commitment to the continuous development of our products and technologies.

Our history
From the foundation stone to modern manufacturing
1975
The beginning in Lörrach. David Bobolowski lays the foundation for the company. Working from a workshop, the trained telecommunications technician begins by producing transformers and later develops motors and chokes. The repair of servo motors also becomes part of the business early on.
1977
Drive technology becomes the core. BOB shifts its focus to drive technology. To this day, it remains the technological foundation of the company and its linear and rotary servo motors.
1982
New location in Steinen. BOB moves to Robert-Bosch-Straße in Steinen. There, David Bobolowski develops and manufactures servo motors, DC motors, and a wide range of linear motors—including those for manufacturers of pick-and-place machines.
2000
Innovations in linear drives. Two patent applications document BOB's development work: a linear DC motor for short strokes and a multi-phase, multi-pole synchronous voice coil motor without integrated bearings.
2002
The next generation takes over. Following the passing of company founder David Bobolowski, his wife Doris Bobolowski and son Peter Bobolowski continue to lead the business.

2005
DTL 85 – Linear technology from Steinen. A water-cooled, bearingless synchronous linear motor for short strokes is created. Development and production "Made in Germany" by BOB Antriebssysteme.
2006
Certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001. In 2006, BOB's quality management system was officially certified for the first time. An important milestone for reliable processes, consistently high quality standards, and the continuous development of the company.
2012
Further development of servo technology. BOB presents the HTBL-S servo motors with Hiperface DSL encoders as a single-cable solution: motor power and encoder communication no longer require two separate cables.
2024
BOB in the next generation. Silvio Bobolowski joins as an additional Managing Director, and Myrta Franziska Bobolowski is granted sole power of attorney. Together, they will continue the development of the family business.

We remember Peter Bobolowski, who passed away at the beginning of 2026, with great gratitude. For many years, he shaped BOB Bobolowski GmbH through his deep personal commitment, entrepreneurial responsibility, and close ties to our customers, partners, and employees.
Following the death of his father and company founder David Bobolowski in 2002, Peter Bobolowski continued to lead the family business together with his mother, Doris Bobolowski, developing it further with great dedication and passion. His passing leaves a significant void, both personally and professionally. What he created and carried forward for our company remains an essential part of BOB Bobolowski.
Peter Bobolowski shaped our company for many years – professionally, entrepreneurially, and above all, as a person. Much of what BOB Bobolowski stands for today bears his signature. We are grateful for this and will always honor his memory.
